Amnesty works to advocate for asylum seekers,
championing solutions to end offshore detention
and bring refugees to safety. They are appalled
by the Australian Government's treatment of
asylum seekers arriving by boat, opposing the
deliberate system of abuse for thousands of
people, and how the issue is used politically
to instill fear and insecurity.
How could Amnesty help Australians see through
the government’s long running campaign of fear
mongering on asylum seekers?

A series of mock movie trailers and posters that
equate our government’s rhetoric on refugees
with that of alien invasion films of the 1950s,
showing that misinformation and distortion
have been used for political gain since the
Howard era.
Poor reviews online would spread the message,
encouraging people to voice their disapproval
and show solidarity with asylum seekers.
