TIME'S UP | ADVERTISING
ADDRESSING SEXUAL HARASSMENT AT WORK.
BACKGROUND |
At the beginning of 2018, 300 women in
Hollywood launched Time’s Up - an initiative
aimed at addressing the systemic problem of
sexual harassment, discrimination, and inequality
in workplaces across industries. It was a
response to the #MeToo movement, with a
broader agenda of shifting the power imbalances
that would bring about gender equality.
Now, a group of 180 women in senior leadership
positions in advertising have joined with the
Time’s Up movement to launch Time’s Up
Advertising, the first formal industry alignment.
IDEA |
Time’s Up Advertising Directory - an employment
and review website dedicated to empowering
females working in the industry. It would offer
employees and applicants an honest assessment
of company cultures and how favorable they are
to women, as well as a platform to address sexual
harassment and support the victims.
It would also encourage agencies to be more
progressive on gender equality, in order to
protect their reputation and avoid missing
out on female talent.
oUTDOOR |
Posters placed on the exterior or interior lobby
walls of corporate office buildings. It could also
be displayed at industry events.
AMBIENT |

bosses and senior executives staying in luxury
hotel suites and serviced apartments.
Predominantly all-male leadership could be
targeted with the same message as they travel
for business.
